Am I really writing a blog? Is this even cool and hip anymore? Was it ever really cool or hip? Perhaps writing a blog makes us 30-something year old guys feel like we are cool. It beats writing in a diary, though I suppose that is what this really is.
I am currently reading a book about a youth baseball coach/parent and it made me decide that this would be a good way for me to keep track of things that have happened to me, or are happening to me. His book is basically a collection of his "journal" writings that he has collected and published into a book. Since I too am a youth coach and a dad, why not give it a shot as well. I'm not doing this for a future book deal (though if things came to that then great!). I'm doing this for me, so that from time to time, I can reflect on my experiences as a dad and a coach and file them away from future reading or reflection.
A majority, if not all of these posts, will likely be discussing my experiences as a dad and a coach. So if you stumble across this blog by accident and feel the need to read it, then this should give you a heads up as to what you can expect. I'm a month or so away from starting up a new youth baseball season, so expect over the course of the next few weeks some posts about my previous experiences as both a high school coach, a youth coach, and a youth league director....
